A main member of the band Calexico along with John Convertino. Their musical style is influenced by traditional Latin sounds of mariachi, conjunto, cumbia, and tejano mixed with country, jazz, and post-rock. In his performances, he is one of the many artists who used the Twilighter 1x12” Combo by Magnatone USA.
